Students from National Forensic Science University, Guwahati Completes M.Sc. Dissertation Research at the Wildlife Genetics Laboratory

The Wildlife Genetics Laboratory is pleased to share that Ms. Shiwani Phukan, M.Sc. Forensics student from National Forensic Science University, Guwahati has successfully completed her internship work in WGL from January for a period of 3 months.
As part of their dissertation work, Ms. Shiwani carried out a study titled “Development of DNA markers for forensic identification of Wild Buffalo(Bubalus arnee) from Domestic Buffalo(Bubalus bubalis)”.
The research was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Udayan Borthakur, Director & Head and the co-guidance of Dr. Pranjal Kumar Das, Conservation Geneticist from WGL, with academic supervision from Dr. Chandra Shekhar Yadav , Assistant Professor, School of ForensicScience, National Forensic Sciences University, Guwahati Campus.
