In Kaziranga National Park, researchers are building a DNA database from rhino dung to monitor populations and even catch poachers! Once on the brink of extinction with only about a dozen left in 1908, the greater one-horned rhinoceros has made an incredible comeback—today, an estimated 2,613 roam Kaziranga’s swampy landscapes.
