Can we differentiate between individual of a species through DNA analysis?
Yes - we can differentiate between individual animals of the same species using DNA analysis, and this is one of the most powerful and widely used tools in wildlife genetics, conservation biology, and forensic science.
With the exception of identical twins or clones, no two individuals possess an identical DNA sequence. By analysing distinct genomic areas that differ among individuals, researchers can create a genetic "fingerprint" or popularly known as "DNA Fingerprint" unique to each organism, akin to human forensic DNA profiling.
